/sci/ - Science & Math

Dear /sci/, I have a problem.

My natural predisposition is to the humanities, but I find the sciences extremely interesting. Every now and then I will pick up a book about, say, number theory or astronomy, which will be an uphill struggle, and I find myself after a few weeks having forgotten most of it.

Am I dumb for wanting to learn about science if I have no talent for it?

Is this true? /sci/ seems to think it's a pop sci book that's easily comprehended by the moderately intelligent. If so, are MIT mathematicians really that stupid? How hard is GEB to get through?
