I did an experiment some time ago to prove that math is the absolute bottom of the social hierarchy. When talking to women in social situations I acted like I had nothing to do with math and pretended to work some random wagie job. Even McDonald's worker and toilet cleaner receive more favorable reactions than math student.

However it seems to be a cultural / racial thing as well. I'm a white man in Germany. White women generally react the most disgusted. They express genuine contempt for math. Middle Eastern women are mostly indifferent. Asian women often exhibit some kind of gold digger instinct when they hear about my math degree. But I'm not attracted to Asians at all.
