How precise was cern when deciding the neutrons were fired a distance of 730km.

If they were off by 18 meters, that COULD explain the "faster than light" travel.

Nope, we're just going to spend 3% of our total government budget on education, 1.4 trillion on the army to blow up sandniggers in t shirts and ak-47s and then only give the nerds at nasa 18.7 billion.

And people wonder whats wrong with america

hey /sci/,

I recently started reading into basic physics and happened upon Hawking's explanation of the Twin paradox.

I want to understand why time would pass at a different rate for a twin on earth versus a "space traveler" twin such that, if the space traveler came back to earth, he or she would be younger.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Can anyone help me out?

Goddammit people like this break my heart. If they were intelligent (Not that they're stupid) they'd put it to great use. While im sitting here with a 164 IQ being lazy with a mediocre engineering job since im happy as long as i've got good food, good internet, and a good bed to sleep in.

You know, I thought /sci/ would be smarter than this.
This is a revelation for me, really.
I don't think I'm ever coming back to these boards now.

The earth, is not a sphere. Of course it isn't flat, as so many geniuses have pointed out. If one were to describe its shape, it would most closely resemble a pear (yes, as in the fruit). An ellipse is close, and "sphere" is merely watering it down for, apparently, the rest of /sci/ to understand.

It's a fucking mirror inside a translucent sphere. How do mirrors work? Our shitty chimp brains fall for optical illusions all the time. It's just a person holding a clear sphere but due to movements and our brain having to process things quickly so we don't get eaten by tigers we you know what fuck it

>Friend and I both take Chemistry, Physics, Maths B, Maths C and English in senior
>I take Biology, he takes Music
>He insists Biology is not a science so it doesn't count
>Biology
>Not a science

Why do people say this shit, /sci/? And please don't use the shitty "It's glorified chemistry" argument, because that just devolves into the purity of sciences.

My argument to that however, is that a fantastic mathematician would not make a good biologist or chemist straight-up. Why do some people insist Biology is not a science?
