>Except quantum computing has already paid out
I'll have the London Broil, medium rare please.
>I had this conversation talking with a pal at … a nice restaurant near one of America’s great centers of learning. Our waiter was amazed and shared with us the fact that he had done a Ph.D. thesis on the subject of quantum computing. My pal was convinced by this that my skepticism is justified; in fact he accused me of arranging this. I didn’t, but am motivated to write to prevent future Ivy League Ph.D. level talent having to make a living by bringing a couple of finance nerds their steaks.

You're welcome to try investing your life in a dead end meme. Could always use more stories like that waiter who had a Ph.D. in quantum computing.

>It seems you are talking shit to yourself.
No you dummy. You don't seem to understand how punctuation works. There's clearly a colon before the second post, showing it's being used *in support* of the argument against the anon who keeps claiming differences in metabolism or other non-calorie factors are a big deal.
If Anon A claims 2+2=5 and I respond with
"Like Anon B already pointed out here:
[Anon B's post number]
>[Argument Anon B wrote which shows why Anon A is wrong]
You stupid fuck."
That would mean I'm calling Anon A a stupid fuck, not Anon B.

Nobody's observed evidence of other universes and the most popular "multiverse" idea is a retarded interpretation of quantum physics that somehow holds it more reasonable to invoke the existence of quadrillions of additional universes for every fucking moment of happenstance in our own just to make the idea of wave function collapse go away.

>the industry of making money
lol, how much you pull in with tips last night, waitress-anon?
>beat tensorflow
Beat them in efficiency? For someone pretending to talk about the "real world" you don't seem to have any grasp of it. Have you ever even worked as an actual salaried software developer and not just "self-employed" bullshit? You sound exactly like the hobbyist you keep projecting about.

>Fuck off I spent a shitton of money on med school and I'm only two years in I need this job to stay around
lol, imagine all these ragie wagies who worked themselves half to death and buried themselves in debt doing graduate degrees who will get cucked out of a high paying career.
There's nothing better than finding out the guy bagging your groceries was a laid off engineer or your waiter has a PhD.

>Because of computer dorks' power fantasies. Sorta like how "automation" is frequently code for "everyone but me is going to be out of a job soon, haha suckers!"
No. Every programmer I know (myself included) is aware programming isn't a magical exception to what can be automated. Most programmers take the stance of "everyone, including me, is going to be out of a job (eventually)." In fact automation of other people's work is my own line of work and has been for a fairly long time now, and I'm still not deluded enough to believe I'm special. People aren't magic. Brains aren't magic. Nothing any of us do is beyond automation.
The best you can hope for is getting paid for some sort of work that happens to not get automated until later compared to most other tasks. It's not even necessarily obvious which work that might be though. Call center agents for example you would think are incredibly easy to automate out of their jobs, and you'd kind of be correct. Except that it turns out people really fucking hate anything that isn't a live person when it comes to interacting with a business they have a relationship with. So even though every business on the planet could replace their agents with programmatic solutions very few end up doing so.

lol, holy shit. Literal Ph.D holding wagies. I almost feel bad except the kinds of pseuds who got excited by the word "quantum" thrown around mostly deserve this.
