Has there ever been someone as equivalently intelligent or accomplished as Jansci?

I'm not being rhetorical, it seems like he might be the single most accomplished man in history and it is genuinely very difficult for me to find an equivalent or better.

Does /sci/ have any candidates?

Additionally I have a little known story by Wigner about his incredible abilities by mental calculation. They have been mythologized greatly I suspect by Halmos' publication "The Legend of John Von Neumann" which is as far as I can tell the origin of the legend that he could divide an eight digit number by an eight digit number in his head.

http://www.princeton.edu/mudd/finding_aids/mathoral/pmc44.htm

"I have a story against him, if you want to hear it. I once told him that I just read, to my amazement, that somebody could multiply two 5-digit figures in his head. He said, "That's wonderful. I'll try it also. " I gave him two 5-digit figures. He went to the corner, as he always did when he wanted to think hard, looked up, and mumbled. He did that for about five minutes, and then he came back with a product. I said, "Wonderful, congratulations." He said, "Is it correct? " I said, "No, but to get any result is wonderful." It is very difficult, almost impossible, to multiply two 5-digit figures in your head. After all, for what purpose was paper discovered?"

You're fucking joking right? Schrodinger made up one equation based on ad hoc energy relations and got lucky that it worked out. He then quit physics because the interpretations/results of quantum physics were too much for his brainlet mind.

Furthermore, the Schrodinger picture and wave mechanics in general are honestly the most misleading formulations of QM, arguably even more misleading than Feynman's path integrals.

It really was a group effort, through and through. If you want to really thank one person, thank von Neumann for putting the physics into a useful, generalized, and rigorous formalism. In classical mechanics, you can get by on poorly defined mathematical structures because of "muh intuition." In quantum theory, you can't get away with that shit. Thank god von Neumann lived to fix that shit.

I just turned 24 and schizophrenic. Repeated hospitalizations have caused me to drop out of courses several times. But I love Mathematics and I the thought of not doing something math related for the rest of my life is very troubling. At the same time, I feel like I'm wasting my time in college. I already have an undergraduate degree's worth of mathematics knowledge that I already use on a daily basis to think about open unsolved problems. I'm thinking about applying for public housing and just trying those math problems all day every day. I also don't have a dorm so I live with my parents and go to a nearby school. My dad is such a fucking asshole and is also the second reason why I just want to leave everything. Should I do it? I'd probably get honorary degrees if I solved something anyway.

Ever since that Ancient Aliens series went on the air earlier this year I've been bothered by seeing the outlines of "aliens" in the dark, or when I am standing in the light by the lightswitch and there's a hall around the corner that is dark and the light is on there I sort of hurry up to get back into my room because I'm afraid something terrible will walk out of the corridor. That, and strange noises like my dogs stretching or making footsteps freaks me out even though everything is well lit. Will this get out of control? I'm afraid I might start hallucinating full blown visuals of strange creatures. It started with that show. I recently just got switched to Risperdal consta, a monthly injection of risperidone if it helps. Been diagnosed schizophrenic for six years now. I've also had many related nightmares as well.

How can a mind that so excelled in one area fail so greviously in another?

what are his math accomplishments?

for example von neumann architecture wasn't really his work (Mauchly and Eckert's work)

Von Neumann was a mathematical genius, but his brain was limited to that

Malcolm X was a true visionary, a moral, political and philosophical genius...the philosophical ideas Malcolm was thinking off were stuff Von Neumann could never think of

Von Neumann was one of the smartest men who ever lived. He was a fucking polymath and a founding father of quantum mechanics, game theory and theoretical computer science, among many other things. But surely your tiny brainlet intellect can tell that he must have been wrong.

THIS IS NOT BAIT OR TROLLING

john von neumann was an anti-communist, that's unexpected due to the fact that communism is (theorically speaking) almost a flawless ideology (in comparrison of capitalism), and john von neumann was truly a genius. i wondered if anyone here could please show me any science-based argument against communism, as one that von neumann would argue.

were von neumann's reasoning about politics fundamented on his personal utility? or was something beyond individuality? is there any (actual) fundamental fault in marxist theory besides the economic calculation problem?

thanks

Ashkenazi Jews have a mean iq of 115 and have dominated academia for hundreds of years.

HOW CAN THE GOYIM EVEN COMPETE?

Ashkenazi Jews have a mean iq of 115. Centuries of living in European society where they had to select for intelligence as a matter of survival caused this. They're literally the intellectual master race.

The goyim simply can't compete.
