Philosophy is dead. It died in the 19th century. If you want to read the old philosophers' works in your free times for the purpose of cultural education, that's fine. A lot of people do that. But if you honestly believe "doing" philosophy or even obtaining a degree in philosophy is a worthwhile pursuit in the 21st century, you are fucking wrong. Philosophy has been superseded by science and is 100% obsolete nowadays. There are no job positions for philosophers and nobody needs them anymore. The only arguments that matter nowadays are logical and factual arguments. Sophistry and fallacies can be made up by every fool on the street and we don't need philosophers to produce more of them.
