Is BME really that bad?

I was looking at the courses and shit that JHU offers to its undergrad biomedical engineers, and it's pretty impressive (transport phenomena in biology, systems biolengineering, etc.). That, plus the huge amount of opportunities (compared to lesser state schools) at JHU are, while not MIT-level, not something to be overlooked.

I fully intend to go to grad school, regardless of which engineering field I choose; biomedical is a pretty good description of the kind of career I'm interested in. There are really two things making me hesitant: 1) the seemingly bad rep and 2) the cost of Johns Hopkins tuition.
