Hey /sci/entist I've got a question for you.
Why the fuck do I keep getting depressed? I take my medication but I always fall down again, like every 6 months or so I start feeling like shit, usually happens when think I'm fucking out of this shit, please help.

I fucking hate futurists, blind transhumanists and techno gurus that hail general AI as some sort of holy grail that will solve all the world's problems. However, I do believe that someone, somewhere, someday will create general AI.

The question I want answered is, is there any way for a general AI to be introduced into society with society collapsing in on itself? I've read alot of people who are hopeful that whoever develops that kind of technology will either make it open-source and allow people to tinker with it, or just mindlessly give it away without any foresight into the ramifications. Regardless of how it happens, is there any way possible for someone with that technology to introduce it into our world? What kind of preparations would they have to make? What kind of business would they have to run? What laws would need to be in place, or would they have to operate internationally and lease the right to integrate it into particular countries (literal shekel-tier shit but it could happen)?
