It's not profound, though. It's just trying to trick people into accepting science as a religion.
>dust to dust
Meaning that life is temporary and that we should be humble and appreciate what time we are given. Believing that the great works we create and the knowledge we accumulate elevate us above everything else is folly, as all shall fall away and be forgotten in time. You do not have to believe in God in order to find this meaningful. If anything, it is MOST meaningful to atheists.
>we are all made of star dust
Humans associate stars with the divine, and saying that Humans have a connection with stars via nebula and supernova causes the religious parts of our brain to light up. But in reality, saying that we were created from nebula is no different than astrology's claims about stars impacting your life.

Anyone who talks about stardust should be mocked and called out. This is EXACTLY what science as religion looks like, and it is dangerous.

>you aren't allowed to criticize medicine because WHY DON'T YOU GO LIVE IN SOMALIA
This is precisely what is wrong with modern academia. It's a religion.

To answer your question, OP, smallpox was able to be eradicated due to the British Empire forcing the world's population to get vaccinated and it cannot be done now due to the collapse of imperialism and the rise of the turd world's opinion being considered relevant. Almost all medical aid going to countries with tropical diseases is stolen.
