I'm seriously considering enrolling into university for Mechanical Engineering (not underage). But I have on problem, I'm semi decent at calculus (mid 90s) but my chemistry and physics mark are at high 80s to low 90s.

Am I in good shape for engineering or no?
Also how is the eng. life in general?

I was going to ask question relating to this subject in another thread. So let's say there is a fusion powered generation ship. Now in this generation ship there is little car sized space ships, what sort of fuel would these things use.

I am in Physics 20, missed a class and im fucked. We have a graph of Velocity vs Time, and we have to solve distance using slope and area formula not kkinematics formula. I looked online googled this formula and it is always
y2-y2
x2-x1

Which just gives me slope, how the fuck do i solve for distance by not just going Velocity times Time?

Is an Associates in Chemical Engineering worthless, /sci/?

I was in a rut and I'm old and want a career before I finally hit 30

Will I realistically hit 50k as a salary faorly early in my career?

I don't expect huge amount of money, just enough to consider a family.

Alright guys, I'm arguing with my dad about how solar power generation works and need some clarification.

Essentially I need to know how selling power back to grid works.

Pretty much I need to know how the wiring/electricity moves/works.

When electricity is captures to sell back to the grid, does it go through separate wires, or the incoming ones?

I just need clarification about how selling back to the grid works from residential panels. How does the electricity actually go back to the grid?

I came up with this today.

You could say a theory is x% representative, which you get by dividing the number of cases where it works by the number of all possible cases.

For example, take a function F(a,b) which behaves as a logical OR. The theory that it behaves as a logical AND is then 50% representative: it works for (0,0) and (1,1) (2 cases) and fails for everything else (there being a total of 4 possible cases).

What is the lagrangian of a system moving as the result of solely conservative internal and external forces?

I'm not quite understanding what's the V or "potential energy" component of the lagrangian if I have external forces with potential U and internal (interactive) forces between particles of the system. U_ij is the potential of the interaction force between the i-th and j-th particle.

Is it just L = T - U - U_ij?

Why do people say "don't waste water! you will be sorry when you have none" I can see doing this if there is not a lot around.

But if you have a almost unlimited amount what's the big deal? Could the world actually run out of water? This just seems like nonsense as it has to exist as either a solid, liquid or gas. Where would it go? Space? wouldn't it just get pulled back in via gravity?

Linear Algebra question /sci/

The topics involve least squares solution of Ax = b

If we suppose S is the set of solutions of the equation Ax =b, and L is the set of its least squares solutions, how would one go about proving S is a subset of L?

Quick physics question /sci/.

Imagine a motorcycle traveling over the top of a circular hill. At the very top point of the hill (being vertical to the center), wouldn't the centripetal force be the force of gravity? Meaning m*v^2 / r = m*g ?
