So ...9999 = -1.

Also, ...9999 = 9*(...1111) = 9* (1/(1 - 10)) = 9*(-1/9) = -1.

Would someone please tell me, in terms of legit or even rigorous math, why this stuff works?

All of math can be reduced to logic.
