judging on the amount of nihilists and atheists im sure there are lost of people here suffering that mental disorder.

DSM(Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) should include a whole chapter about nihilism...

How come both sides of nihilissm are surrounded by mysticism, conspiracy theorists, and in general New Age faggotry? Type in nihilism or any variant of the word and you get a hundred posts that have more to do wit religion than science or engineering. I just want to talk about free will and quantum dualism without the thread derailing into posts about how Mecha-Satan and the Illuminati are trying to steal our souls using computers or how technology will prove X hippie religion true and we can be apart of the universal energy and Namaste!

Note: This doesn't really apply to /sci/ since it's like 99% atheist, but discussion of nihilism elsewhere will attract fundies, tin-foil hatters and New Agers faster than their collective disappointment when nothing happens in 2012.

My dad just ruined our christmas day too.

He told me to shut up when i was criticizing my brother (i do this rarely and only with good intents).
I sayed it because i saw my dad whas irritated by me brother behavioure too, but i he couldn`t bring his iritations to words resulting in him to become a grumpy man.
Even when i wanted to talk about something else he told me to shut up.
He just seemed jealous i could bring things to words he himself couldn`t.

i told him how about no and then he rufusef to eat with me on the same tabel, demanding me to leave. So my mom took my dad`s dinner plate away and told him to stfu.

Then started threating with devorce "i will win because i have the money, people with money always win", he said.

i told him it`s not people with money that always win but the most coward. Look what hitler did to the jews or what stalin did. i wished him to have great pleasure with his "winning".

His favourite book some pseudo-sociological book about the implementations of social-darwinism he has read it many times and always recomends it to people.

With the idea of social-darwinism in the back of his head he is always anxious to be on the wrong end and denies it when he said something wrong.

told him i hate people like him and don`t think i have anything more to say at him.

Don`t think this kind of drama`s make any impact to him though.

OP can you describe why life is painfull to you ?

Anyway if you`re not trolling go visit a psych, they are specialized in helping people like you.

Just like some people can feel an irrational amount of fear for spiders or flying in airplanes.

It`s not even philosophy, it`s a pure psychological malfunction so i support the idea that psych could help you.
