Given how dull their island is its hard to believe they stay there of their own volition (although they have boats, no idea if seaworthy ones), we also dont know just exactly how long they've been there, although the earliest we know of them is 1771 so thats a fair bit of time. People have always travelled these waters heavily, even erectus has sailed them as evidenced by homo floresiensis, so its not hard to see how a group of them could simply shipwreck in large enough a number to survive and get stranded.

Lastly, they have had a large modern freighter in shallow water right off the shore for 40 years now, MV Primrose, so I dont really think they qualify as uncontacted by now really, they can easily access it and have been known to fashion weapons from shit they found there.
