It's just very frustrating to me to use something so regularly while having no idea about how it works on a fundamental level. I've found the series expansion online, but without any notes as to how that series is initially derived from a right triangle or unit circle or why it's more useful than the other options

/sci/, how does one actually become one of those scientists that we all admire? How did they get into careers of discovery, analysis, and publishing?

I'm in my first year of university and I still don't know where I'm going. I know "research" is a thing you do after your undergrad, but how exactly do you acquire said careers?

What exactly is Control Theory? Can it really be applied to economics and other fields? Would I be able to pursue a graduate degree in non-engineering fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Economics if I major in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Control?
