> Starship Raptor V1 vs. Raptor V2 = More power, less parts.

>SpaceX is working to rapidly improve the Starship launch vehicle and make manufacturing cost-effective. The company has been able to achieve this with the rocket engines' development.

>Raptors are fueled by 'Methalox', a combination of cryogenic liquid methane and liquid oxygen which is a unique fuel in the rocket industry. V2 is the second iteration of the engine, it has less visible plumbing/wiring & is more powerful. Both sea-level versions have the same nozzle exit diameter and similar dimensions, however, V2 is lighter than V1. Raptor V1 has a mass of 2,000 kilograms (kg) and V2 1,600 kg.

>V1 generated around 185 tons of thrust and the current V2 generates ~230 tons of thrust, making it one of the world's most powerful rocket engines.

>V2 production cost is around half of V1. SpaceX aims for the cost-per-tonne of thrust of each Raptor to be under $1,000 — so around $250,000 to produce.

didnt remember that there was such a large drop in mass, thats pretty crazy
so the thrust from v1->v2->v3 goes like
185->230->269 (tons)
