ruleset:
the game starts when the ball is introduced into the arena, both teams will start on symmetrical platforms on either side about 25 meters away from the middle.
there are 12 players on either team.
players can give the ball velocity with any part of the body they like, hands, feet, headbutting, keicho, it's all fair game.
players are allowed to take hold of their own teammates and add velocity to them or change their trajectory or slow them.

you are allowed to do this with the oppositions teammembers as well, you can intercept them and either strike into them without grabbing on or grabbing them and then throwing them.

however, there is a time limit to grabbing enemy players, you will be dealt a card if you do not let go within 5 seconds.
if you manage to grab an enemy player carrying the ball and hold onto him in any way, the ball carrier will be forced to let go or pass it to his teammates.

so yeah, the possibilities would be endless with that kind of setup. you could imagine a breath of different playstyles, who knows what kind of team compositions and meta's would form, what kind of bodytype would have an advantage?
people would probably be really clumsy at this sport at first and lots of people would get stuck in mid-air (though after a few minutes you could probably flap your arms enough to get back to the side of the arena or one of the platforms, or you could get a teammate to push you) and wouldnt know how to control direction or speed to intercept the ball, other players, or even the platforms and ropes. but eventually people would get the hang of it and you'd get god tier pro players that can perfectly calculate trajectories and use elaborate teamplay to speed one of their players up or make his path unpredictable to the enemy. goalkeepers would be dealing with the regular mindgames too ofc.

what do you guys think? this has always kind of been what i think of when i think of spess sports.
