It really depends when they clamp your umbilical cord, what they vaccinate you with, if you're breastfed, etc.

Why does this guy ramble on about a personal god so much? I find the idea of the god of spinoza (the kind Einstein and some modern physicists like Michio Kaku believe in) at least somewhat compelling. This is a god which can simply be understood as a higher, inscrutable layer of reality, which has no willings and no choice in making our world what it is.

The flat earth is covered by a great dome CALLED THE FIRMAMENT. It's not a flat disc, it's a DOME. And underneath the Earth is a great and infinite ocean. And outside the firmament is another great ocean.

A hollow sphere with multiple (probably discrete) flat sections inside. Hence the firmament.

>meditation isn't confined to only one spiritual practise. Christians did it and said it put them closer to God, and Buddhists say it teaches you mindfulness; they don't even believe in God. So which is it?

Stop thinking of meditation in a religious sense, these examples are meditation applied to religious/spiritual ideas but meditation can be and is entirely separate from them - it is a natural function and state of the brain that can be achieved and shows marked and similar differences in brain activity in even short-time meditators and shows marked increase in grey matter in long time practitioners. These are undoubtedly beneficial for the brain.

The things you experience during meditation vary, depending on the person and the type of meditation and other things, so you can experience profound sensations of bliss and a kind of infinite sense of space - I have experienced this, Christians who meditate may classify this as becoming closer to God, Buddhists may consider it reaching the point of mindfulness (although that might not be it, just a crude example). But ultimately meditation is not about those sensations, although it can be, there are so many types of meditations out there that no one is the judge and king of them, they are there for us to experience and try out and benefit from if we can.
