Is there a good source to learn technical subjects of mechanical engineering, such as Machine elements, or Strength of materials, etc? There are a shitton of good resources to learn physics online, but such specific subjects, not really..

Should I major in chemical engineering or electrical engineering? What books would you recommend?

>be me
>5-6/10 girl in electrical engineering
>having trouble finding voltage in one problem
>ask guy next to me for help
>pushes glasses up like an anime character and proceeds to give a tutorial for the next 10 minutes, filled with cringey jokes and and assorted austim
>friend comes over and starts arguing with him that there's a superior method of doing the problem, they are literally fighting over it because of some spergy want to impress me
>this occurs every time in that class, almost irregardless of which guy I ask
>ask another girl
>get straight answer and a bit of an explanation

Why are guys in engineering so autistic around girls? Is it unavoidable?

So sci, whats the general consensus on engineering? What field makes the most money? Where do the smart people go? Which would give you the most opportunities to make a name for yourself in the scientific community. Im about to finish my basics for engineering. Signed up for aerospace engineering currently, but still curious of what others believe is the best branch of engineering. This might be advice tier but i doubt theres many people involved in engineering there as there is here. Also if you knew what you knew now and were fresh out of HS what would you do? Any recommendations to people looking to pursue an engineering career? Also if theres any engineers out there, so you enjoy your work? Does it remain interesting? What would you change if you could?

Hey /sci/, I'm currently working in human resources, but I previously worked as a recruiter. I have worked with hundreds of clients, but I'm mostly limited to some specific industries and fields of employment that include:

>Manufacturing (automotive, aerospace, locomotive, electronics, chemical)
>Logistics (International, domestic, air/ocean/trucking)
>Education (ESL mostly)
>Creative fields (Graphic design, furniture design)
>Accounting (firms as well as companies)
>Sales, marketing
>IT, Telecommunications
>Advertising

I wanted to create a thread for anyone, especially new grads or students. I've made this thread in the past, and it was successful previously. I also can give help with:

>Resumes
>Job hunting
>Do's and Don'ts
>Specific programs or skills

I cannot help with:

>What schools are best for certain fields or studies
>Retail, fashion, wholesale, or anything that Walmart would be categorized under
>Specific company names

Please ask away!

Ask anything to a recruiter working with Japanese manufacturing, logistics, chemical, and oil companies across North America (specifically Midwest and Texas being specialties).

I work with engineering, machinists, specific manufacturing trades, accounting, logistics, procurement/purchasing, supply chain in production, translation in Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin, sales, human resources, and miscellaneous companies such as furniture and foods.

I also can help anyone out who is looking to come to the United States to work!

Ask a recruiter working for several hundred manufacturers and/or automotive tier1/2 suppliers in the Mid West.

>direct hires or contracts?
Direct hires mostly, sometimes contracts
>What nationality are the companies?
Can't say, but I frequently deal with bilingual positions
>Do you work with current students/new grads/junior level/senior level/manager level/etc?
I work with every age group except current college students. But we do contact students who are close to graduation
>What fields of employment do you not work with?
Arts, theater, medical, aerospace, oil, fashion, retail, and pretty much anything not manufacturing outside of the Mid-west. Obvi more but I cannot help with those listed.
>How long have you been doing this?
Five years. Started early in college and continued two years after graduation. Got my dream career, but I see a lot of questions on /sci/ I might be able to help with.

Ask away please!
