Is it practically feasible to direct the blast of an atomic bomb such as with shaped charges?

Pic unrelated. I'm not planning to blow up your planet.

That's just ridiculous.

I never thought about that. Sad that any Moon base we construct in the polar regions won't ever get a full view of Earth.

pic not submitted as contender, just cool

What scientific discovery needs to be made in order to enable efficient and profitable space travel?

Hey /sci/, I have a somewhat silly question:

Is it possible for the Earth's image to be refracted off of something nearby to create the illusion of the Earth floating above us? I realize that, since it's never happened, the likelihood is pretty ridiculous, but can anyone think of a means by which the Earth's image could be naturally mirrored back to us in some cosmic event?

Thanks.

So /sci/, I have heard that on August 1st, Mars will be closer to the Earth than it has ever been after 6,500 years. Apparently, we will be able to see Mars, and it will look bigger than the moon. I shart my pants when I heard this, and I have come here to have this confirmed. Pic somewhat related.
