>For example, some scientists have completely refused to work on the atomic bomb. Others have worked there and then regretted it. Others have never regretted it.
This is what's referred to as the "Autism spectrum", as in some people have a conscience meaning they don't want to cause the deaths of one to millions of people as a result of their actions. Some scientists believe that if you destroy humanity you therefore cannot "advance" humanity. It's not that hard for most to grasp this concept.

In the deepest, darkest, emotionally retarded and depraved side of the autism spectrum you'll find the scientists who don't understand why it's a problem that they helped create weapons that could end humanity and all life on Earth. You're one of those people because you can't quite grasp why that's wrong and think it's a matter of just giving people an "exempt from ethics" card.

You're a fucking animal, Op.

I thought /sci/ would be different.
I thought /sci/ would be better.
I thought I would find intelligent, intellectual people to share ideas and information about scientific matters with careful, well-reasoned and well-cited arguments.

Instead I got trolls from /b/, conspiracy hacks from /x/, and ideologically-based arguments from /pol/.

/sci/, you suck.

Math nerds.

Quick question I was curious if there are any functions f: R^n->R^m such that for all epsilon>0 there exist a delta>0 such that for x,y in R^n and d(x,y)<epsilon then d(f(x),f(y))>delta.

In other words a function that takes all close points and makes them 'far' away. Other points further than epsilon may or may not be within delta of x, but all points within the neighborhood of x should not be within some neighborhood of f(x) after transformation.

MFW I realize even if we ever do find a way to travel the vast distances of space it will not be in my life time.
With the earth running out of resources to support our ever expanding population it feels like we will be running out of time by the time I get old.
I know I am too dumb to help the search for a way to travel and too poor to fund it.

The only thing I can think to do to try and save man kind is to find a way to kill as many people as I can to give us more time on the planet to look for a way to get off it... But I feel this has to be a insane way to think as killing people to save others is what a monster does...
