What do you guys consider a mathematician? Someone who has a degree? Someone with an advanced degree (PhD)? Someone who is published? Or does it have more to do with employment?

Why? Motherfucker was born in the middle of India, far away from the center of Math development. Auto-didact. His birthday is now considered the Math Day in India. Compiled, by himself, almost 3900 results. Used to live on the streets and starve(while that happened, he proved a lot of stuff). When Hardy, another great mathematician was asked what was his greatest discovery he replied it was the discovery of Ramujan.
