I read that travesty of a conversation, and I'm pretty sure I'm dumber for it.

Look, you can't argue with Christians. One of the cores of their belief is resisting unbelievers who try to sway them from the Way of the Lord. Forget your "evidence" and your "logic." They'll just say:

1) you're lying
2) you're a tool of the Deceiver
3) even if you might be right, God probably did it anyway, which supports my belief in God.

You can't win against them. Fortunately though, theism is on the decline in America. While you will probably never pull anybody away from their church, theism is slowly but surely losing the war.

(A)Gnosticism is a question of percieved knowledge in regards to the subject, (A)Theism of belief of the personal belief in it.

Agnostic Atheist due to lack of evidence thusly not making belief seem reasonable, Gnostic Theist from the belief that considering the properties of reality there must be a deity, etc etc.

If you think Agnosticism is some kind of third stance perfectly seperated and wholely "above" the others, you've already lost the game, and hard.

To this day, I have never met a self-described "agnostic" who actually knows what agnostic means.

It seems like the only people who understand the meaning of the word are atheists. At best, agnostic atheists.

this statement doesnt make any sense. you either have a belief in a deity or you don't. agnosticism and gnosticism refer to knowledge of the divine, not the belief in it.

eg you can be an agnostic theist

Except they're not, they're orthogonal. I'm an agnostic atheist; you need both (a)theist an (a)gnosticism to fully describe someones religious beliefs.

I don't mean the really indecisive ones, like the theist agnostics. More like, those that go around saying "LOLs, neither side is proven! Evolution isn't proven but that doesn't mean it's not true!"

What's the point of always pointing out that something could be wrong? I go about my day believing whole heartedly that what I believe is true. if something comes along and disproves something I know, I change my world view. I've used my deduction capabilities to accept evolution as fact and I act as such because going around saying "LOLOLOL I DONT KNOW WHICH WAY TO GO" is utterly useless.

Point is, stick to something. If you're wrong, you're wrong and you have an opportunity to change. Stop trying so hard to be "not wrong" insofar that you basically contribute NOTHING.
