To concentrate you need to remove all distractions.

Turn off the TV and get rid of your computer. If you really need to use to computer for vital tasks, use programs such as ClearFocused (for chrome) to stop you from wasting time on the internet. Don't start a new book, cancel all plans with friends, etc.

Now you need just need a little more motivation. Find a trustworthy friend or relative and hand them a check for $100. Every night you must text them and say you have completed whatever task you wanted to accomplish on that day. If you do not, tell them to immediately cash the check and spend the money. Write another check, and repeat.
