The news is going crazy over climate change again. Every time this happens it just makes me wonder what the fucking point is.

If we're all going to die from climate change, and it's "too late to stop it" (which is what seemingly all the climate scientists and journalists say), then what's the point of anything anymore? Why go on living? Why do anything long-term or plan for the future anymore knowing it's all going to be for nothing cause we'll all be dead in 20 years? Why have children if we know that they're not even going to be able to get to live a full life before the climate apocalypse happens?

If all the scientists are right, and we really ARE all fucking doomed, then we should all just kill ourselves now. There's no point going on living. We should all just drink loads of beer, do loads of drugs, fuck prostitutes raw, and not care about the consequences because the long-term doesn't matter anymore. Then, at some point before the apocalypse happens, we all kill ourselves so we don't have to live through the horror of it all.

This seems to me to be the only logical take on the climate change situation, if it really is as bad as people say it is.

It is not, i'm feeling real fucking shitty when I should be feeling happy, I fucking hate it, I feel like a dog chasing an eternal car, I thought once I started climbing the steps of the academy the feeling of feeling like a hack fraud would go away, but they just become worse, I just want to be happy, that's all

I already smoke cigarettes, eat nutritionally lacking high convenience processed food, have an extremely sedentary daily routine to the point where I went from runnning 10 miles a day back in high school to where now in my 30s I can't even walk a few steps without getting out of breath and starting to black out and fall over, I'm generally a neurotic guy with minor problems stressing me out, and I'm too old and set in my ways now to change any of this for more than maybe one day before slipping back into the well worn thousand mile deep record grooves of familiarity for life as I've been living it.
So if there's some new widescale source of everyone else getting cancer too that's great. It'll mean there's more of a chance someone will come up with better treatments for these diseases sooner.

>going through engineering mathematics textbook to feel like less of a brainlet
>it's boring as fuck and I don't gain much understanding even when I do the exercises
>feel like stopping right now

The final straw was when I was doing some calculation heavy thing related to eigenvectors that wasn't hard but didn't really have a point. I checked the MIT OCW linear algebra course and even they skipped it.

What do you do to learn and stave off brainletism after university? I am going through SICP but it feels pointless, especially after chapter 3.

Maybe I should spend all my free time doing practical programming.

I've heard arguments that the moon effects your weight, although largely negligible.

What if the moon was eclipsing the sun, how can we calculate the change in weight for

1. Someone watching the eclipse

2. Someone sleeping in their bed on the other side of the globe
