Hello /sci/ We all know newtons universal law of gravitation.
FG=G(m1*m2)/d^2
Where
FG=force of gravity
G=Newtons constant
m1=Mass of the first object
m2=Mass of the second object
D=distance from between the objects where the start and end point are in the center of the objects

Now using this Newtons gave a value for the constant K in Keplers 3rd law
P^2=KR^3
Where
P=the orbital period
K=constant
R=Semimajor axis

Now in newtons version
P^2=(4pi^2/G(m1+m2))R^3

Now why is it

that in Newtons laws of universal gravitation
G(m1*m2)

While in keplers 3rd law
G(m1+m2
