Does higher-level mathematics require more than just high "mathematical" IQ? e.g. verbal IQ, visuo-spatial IQ, etc.? Which fields are more taxing on the other IQ subtests and why? If there are branches of mathematics that are strangely correlated with "non-mathematical" IQ subtests, then what is "mathematical" IQ even measuring? Could it be an indicator that perhaps the branch itself is somewhat non-mathematical?
