I made a thread about this earlier. Category theory has achieved cargo cult status within HackerNews, and therefore, the Tech Tranny community. It's guru shit that very few working mathematicians even need to think about, let alone some programming socks wearin' UX designer. 99.9% of the dorks hyping category theory will never, ever understand the functor relating topological spaces with groups that motivated all the gay formalism to begin with. It's "math" for people who can't do math; a mathlet shibboleth.
