To say scientific achievements are useless is to say that the world is currently living in utopia—for there would be nothing to change, no need to "achieve" because everything is already at its best. You mention the words "objective observation." Using this so-called "objective observation" based upon your intuitive definition of it, you and I can conclude that 1) the world is not in utopia, 2) there are plenty of problems in the world and 3) scientific achievements are need to to solve those problems. Therefore, so long as problems exist, there is always a need for scientific achievements. In what way would you object? Again, take the Deutsch Pill.
