'Periodic Table of Shapes' to Give a New Dimension to Math

Do any mathematicians want to weigh in on this? I think a mathematical periodic table would be interesting. As an engineer, many of the problems in college were about geometry, so I would be interested in a sum total of geometrical shapes. Think of how easy fluid mechanics and transport phenomena would be if we reduced geometry to a simple table. Obviously the main focus was on physics and 3+ dimensional math, but it seems almost everybody could benefit from an undertaking such as this.
