>Don't understand something quite right or want further elaboration
>Go up to professor post lecture (their office hours are always post lecture)
>Ask for a quick elaboration
>Sometimes I get it right there and others we go to their office
>Walk away with now proper understanding with little difficulty and hassle
>Professor now knows your name and face
>Likes you more for showing you give a shit about trying to better yourself in their subject

Also
>Give professor rough draft of paper
>Accidentally sends me an uncommented version
>Go to office hours
>Gives two options, deal with it there or get sent on my way with the commented copy
>Decide to stay there with him because fuck it why not
>Get way more insight into what I did wrong than if I got comments only

From my brother
>Always visiting professors to say high and double check on progress
>His GPA is at a 3.0 risen from a 2.25
>Is set to get his degree in history with a specialization in High School education
>Professor pulls him aside
>Tells him that one solid recommendation from him will land him in a grad program because he likes him and saw how hard he worked to up his GPA to a final 3.2
>Literally got offered a grad position he didn't have the credentials for

So far I've enjoyed reading
>Archaeology: A Very Short Introduction by Paul Bahn
>Frauds, Myths, and Mysteries: Science and Pseudoscience in Archaeology
To be fair I spent the past 3 years not really reading textbooks as they were generally meme books with no information added from my lecture or poorly written.

Before 18-19~
>Mind works at light speed
>Great at mathematics
>Great at sciences
>Writing is okay at best; find it difficult to be creative and consistent with it
>Hard to get immersed into books despite being able to read fast and quite well
>Speech is rather curt and come off as a cunt
>Look autistic as shit

19+~
>Brain slows down like mad
>Mathematics and sciences become increasingly difficult
>Writing quickly becomes much better and impresses English department
>Can easily get immersed into books
>Speech is less autistic and I just simply come off as slightly but likably off/weird
>Looks fit the speech

Similarities
>IQ 130
>Creative when I want to be

IQ more or less means nothing

I support state schools but re-introducing the actual requirements. Have to literally be retarded to not get accepted to most state universities and half of them don't do interviews so they let in the worst kind of students.

State schools are good for people like me who don't have the cash or will to drain 100k into a degree vs like 20-25k overall. Yeah the facilities might be lesser but they're usually sufficient to get the job done.

Depends on the humanities and if you choose to major in it or not.

Alot of the STEM majors I knew did the 100 level courses which can be done by a blind monkey and never could develop decent writing skills and were massive spergs with no soft skills.

STEM majors I knew who took the harder intro classes designed for the major actually managed to not be massive spergs who could articulate their thoughts without looking retarded.

Funny enough, at my uni it's the opposite. All of the older buildings look like crap and all of the new buildings are made with a mixture of slick architecture and cheap style.
