would you rather be an expert in a physical discipline or an intellectual one?

top tier athlete, fighter, olympian, etc
or
top tier scientist, writer, philosopher, etc

>biology
>biochemistry
>use electron microscopy to study the intricate structure of viruses and figure out how to treat them

>physics
>math
>study why a non-rotating Schwarzschild black hole gives rise to a static metric...

no thanks I'll stick to biology, it actually makes sense and is relevant to life.

what determined the structure of our conscious identity?

each of us has a unique consciousness that experiences the world from a particular point of view. There is something it is like to be 'you' and something else it is like to be 'me'. There is something it is like to be a bat or an ape, etc.

Your physical structure is what gives rise to your conscious identity, your conscious experience of the world.

Why do you exist in this time, in this part of the universe, born to those parents?

You could have been born with a mental defect, you could have been a different gender, you could have been born to different parents in a different country, on a different planet, as a different species altogether.

The only thing that really makes you what you are is your point of view, and any species can facilitate a point of view. Why this point of view and not some other?

Do you think you are so unique that you could have only existed in this time, from those parents on this planet? You think your identity is some cosmic constant that exists for all time?

Anyway you cut it, I don't think you can explain this shit, and science isn't going to help you either. Enjoy figuring out irrelevant questions, maybe they will keep your mind off the mystery of your existence until you die.
