>Take Chemical Engineering
>Think that i'll live life the same way i always did, being just a dude solving stuff on a computer
>First day
>ChE teacher tells us that 80% of what companies look for is good teamwork/social skills and 20% is the actual technical knowledge
Am i fucked? Should i just change to chemistry?

Why do viruses always start in other animals? What stops them from starting in humans?

If C02 is such a problem why don't people just design lightweight drones that could fly along the sky and filter it? You could make them out of aerogel and plastic and fly them low enough so they're not an issue for planes and keep them away from important shit for the time being. Is filtering C02 hard? This is already happening with micro plastics in the ocean so why not C02 in the sky with drones?

How does memory work?
How much information can we store? is there a limit?
For example, I feel like the more movies/games/anime I watch the harder it is to remember old ones I watched years ago at least most of the details anyway not the core part.
If I rewatch em Im like "oh yeah now i remember this part"
It kind of sucks tbqh senpai and Im only 21. Is there something wrong with me or is this normal?

Hey /sci/, need some advice from math guys and engineers here.

I want to make a switch from MSc Math to MEng in EE. I want to know if someone who has done a typical Applied Math degree from a Canadian university could do this.

Currently I am doing MSc in Math in Deutschland and things are not going as planned. It doesn't look I am cut for this subject, too abstract for me (have failed 2 oral exams already and even if I continue, it would take me ages to get done with this degree) and want to get into application based field. Signal processing and telecommunications looks interesting as of now and have taken Math courses in my bachelors which kind of explained signal and image processing. Mechanical is also an option I am considering but requirements for that tends to be a bit higher.

What do you guys think? Possible? Transitioning from a science degree to an engineering degree could be a lot to deal with but I think I can do it.

Ohh... thanks

do you have any tips on how to think better, I always seem to come across things that are very simple but for some reason I never think of the correct solution? Or is there no way to think better if youre not genetically predisposed for maths?

How do you deal with the fact that even if you graduated from a top 10 college and work 16 hours a day you will not really achieve much on your own and even the achievements you make in a team will take a long time and not be big?

>get a programming assignment
>have to work in a team with some hip, normal dudes
>while I am still trying to understand the assignment they already began programming
>after I finally understood the assignment they were already halfway through
>I tried reading their code but didn't get it
>they explained it to me and I said I understood it even though I didn't
>the grad students that were overseeing us were in the background talking about partying and their girlfriends

I felt so out of place. College just isn't for ugly brainlets like me. Now I am learning a trade that is fit for a pleb like me and learn about science through digested pop sci articles.
