>I ACTUALLY did the simulation
Oh yeah? Well I actually did the experiment (so do tens of thousands of students every year), and it checks out.

insurance companies and HMOs are trying to push this precise agenda with the "virtual online doctors" and by staffing ER's with nurse practitioners and physician assistants with <2 years of training.

diagnosing a problem is nothing compared to actually managing a patient.

even diagnosis itself is not quite as solved as you seem to believe. especially since you aren't allowed to run 100 tests on everyone you see.

Parsing english is hard for the computer.
Parsing machine code, on the other hand, is easy and efficient.

Also, look up Python, JS, Ruby, Haskell, or any other interpreted language for the functionality you desire.

im sure you'll get hired by a university because of your highly developed """"opinions"""" on the subject

people who are in the field don't want to hear laymen opine about shit they have no clue about. any yik-yak can read the defintion of some obscure thing, and you sound like an idiot if you think you can have a developed opinion on something like that after reading about it once

You clearly don't know shit about CS. A fast algorithm for scaling a image can be as rigorous as you want it to be, but generally the CS population doesn't want to be involved in that kind of stuff. However, it doesn't mean that the deep/hard part you guys need to verify it as a science wasn't there.

I have a STEM degree.
But
>you need to go to college to learn to paint/write music/write a book
Is hilariously wrong. Have you ever studied at a non STEM school? How can you say that they are not worthy?
They are not worth the students' money just because you feel so?
kek.

Christ, why do people try to sound smart about shit they know nearly nothing about? Are you going to tell me that these are engineers as well?

http://www.arl.army.mil/www/default.cfm?page=182

The army needs both physicists and engineers, and yes, probably more of the latter than the former, but there are plenty of physics positions available nonetheless.

Please enlighten me otherwise when you have evidence to back your claims. Otherwise, climb down from mount stupid and do some research before you post.

Is it possible to do something without motivation?

I was arguing with someone who said that you can create an "iron rule" to do something (like a routine) and you can bypass the need for motivation.

My argument was that you need motivation to do that, even if the motivation is just for not screwing up, you still need motivation.

Who is right?
