Are there any lifeforms other than man which actively avoid this type of radiation?

(No, nothing that only involves avoiding The Sun counts.)

mathmeticians! lend me your brains, heres a questions i have been struggling on all day, it appears to be very simple but (at least for me) is much more complex. It says:
"Find the equations of both lines that pass through the point (2, -3) and are tangent to the parabola y = x² + x

Hey, /sci/, I have a small question to ask you. Is it truly statistically possible for 1 out of every 4 women to be raped in their lifetime or not?

A short mind twister for /sci/

A sequence of numbers as follows is given:

8, 5, 4, 9, 1, 7, 6, 10, 3, 2

My question is: Where would 11 belong and why?

Where would 0 belong and why?

What academic field do you hate the most?

Personally, I hate lawyers. As a physics fag the whole field just pisses me off. It's "let's make some shit up, write it down on paper and THEN figure out what it means". It's as if you let the worst lunatics from the philosophy department out and then gave them actual power and people took them seriously.

The most reliable proof of mankind's progress is the fact that we are constantly appalled by the gigantic stupidity of our ancestors.
