Women make less money because in average they take lower and less paid positions, be it due to choice or inability to perform more difficult tasks (you see less women in physical labor in mines, don't you?). That's where the average difference comes from. It has nothing to do with an individual on a specific position and it has nothing to do with discrimination based on gender. Just women picking easier and less paid jobs.
