can do sir. i feel it's my duty.

that's mainly because all of the big problems in physics after ~70's were in string theory. there was QCM, but we had that one licked pretty quickly, with Feynman's help too.

that being said, no one really published anything groundbreaking after the 50's. i'm not saying there wasn't being good science done, but you make it seem like a great physicist should have something akin to QED or General Relativity every decade. even Einstein didn't really publish anything after GR.

who's to say he wouldn't have some brilliant insights into the confusing and tumultuous state of physics today?
after all, he was legendary among scientists in the field for doing just that - weeding out the dumb shit, getting straight to the fundamentals of the problems, and solving the shit out of it.

I have a physics professor who tells everybody in class that if they fail, they should really consider taking up psychology as their major.

Is psychology really THAT easy?

Hey /sci/ I'm a highschool underage ban, and I was wondering how to become a physicist. Something simple would suffice or complex, perhaps even from undergrad physics students. What am I up against? Anything besides
>PHD in Mathematics
>$300k starting
>Any job you want
