>What makes it "good"? How are you defining "good"?
I already said. Human biology. It is a natural and nearly universal desire (for humans): To live, and to have freedom to act/choose.

It's good because we say so, sure. But human biology gives us a fairly decent common ground of what we can call human "good". Most of the variations between value systems are just belief systems about what will best advance the basic inherent values we all share. To live, to have clothing and shelter, to be safe from physical danger, etc. And then higher-level but still-universal things like the desire to be valued by others, etc.

I know Maslow's hierarchy is kinda dated, but it's got truth to it.

Hey /sci/, does anyone have a link/name to that chart/pyramid that describes an individuals typical psychological response to a new idea or thought.

For example, I believe the first level was to question the authenticity of the speaker. Then the 2nd or 3rd level was actually analyzing the idea itself and its validity on its own.

Sorry for the poor explanations, but does anyone know what I'm describing? Pic somewhat related, similar concept.
