So I was thinking that the "Big Bang" could have been just a very big sort of "nova" event in the middle of a larger universe which contains other macrocosmic entities or collections of post-nova matter.

But then after watching a video about the universe's expansion and the observable parts of it, I realized that we would probably be able to see the light from things outside of our own personal "big bang" (if all of existence is infinite). Outside matter wouldn't be under the effects of our own matter's initial and proceeding conditions, so it might not be expanding away from us.

Is there any way to tell whether or not any of the light or radiation we can detect is coming from either our own "big bang" matter or from beyond? Would there be anything besides time that could "block" this light or radiation from getting into our universe-thing?

I'm so confused right now.

I mean if existence and space precluded the big bang then why is our little pocket the only thing that exists in all of that space?

If it didn't preclude the big bang then why would these concepts just magically start because of an explosion?

How can existence not be infinite? How can there be a period of "absolute zero"? The magical super-dense orb that would later be known as our universe had to exist in some fashion, right?

It might not even have been a big bang like we think it was, we could have everything wrong, it's happened before.

ugh
