The assumptions:
>NASA will have enough people there for agriculture
>NASA is somehow now the Farm Bureau
>anyone on Mars will eat anything fresh their whole rotation
>the equipment for anything beyond a salad a week will somehow get to Mars in a reasonable timeframe
I'm just cautious about technological determinism.
Attached is a chamber at the South Pole that, after decades of having people there, is able to produce one salad per person per WEEK. Plants require a lot of resources.
