Technically, the minimum number of living, breathing humans required for colonizing a new world would be one... one woman and a lot of genetic stock. She would have 4 or more female children. They would produce 16 or more female children, then 64 or more, then 274 more, and so on until the population is large enough to do it the old fashioned way.

But what happens if the new, all female population is able to fertilize eggs with female DNA instead of sperm? It would be a civilization, possibly numbering in the millions of billions, consisting of nothing but women!

"It all comes back to the Big Bang", a general truth and a reference to a scene in the novel Green Mars (one of my favorite books).

I found the lack of stuff to talk about to be a humorous reflection of the fact that when one cuts out the semantics from most /sci/ thread, there is very little to discuss. Science is too good at establishing the truth.
