The trig functions just relate the angles of a triangle to the ratios of the sides. I really don't see any other way of doing this problem that wouldn't be effectively the same.

Going to start my B.S in Biology at Texas A&M University this fall.

First year I'll be taking Introductory Biology, Fundamentals of Chemistry(Gen./Inorganic Chemistry), Fundamentals of Chemistry lab, and something called "Calculus 1 for Biological Sciences".

This sounds pretty damn easy, as i took AP biology, AP chemistry, and AP calculus this year (my senior year of high school).

Am I underestimating the difficulty of college? I go to a very hard high school, it's ranked top 50 in the US. The thing is, I'll have to make an amazingly good GPA (hopefully perfect). I need it for two reasons. one - because I 100% plan on going to medical school to become an emergency room doctor, and two - my dad bet me $15,000 that I wouldn't be the valedictorian of my graduating class.

What can I do to ensure the 4.0, /sci/? Any tips? Motivation/getting my shit done/study habits will not be a problem. I've read a bout a book called "The guide to surviving general chemistry", and I've seriously thought about getting it and going through the whole thing this summer. Although I took AP chem this year, I feel as though I definitely forgot a lot, and I know chem is tough. Biology doesn't require much thought, so I feel like I'll be able to study for that as I go along in the course as normal. Math is my strong point, so "lmaocalc1forbiologists" really shouldn't be a problem, but just in case I'm going to re watch all the patrick JMT videos and rework through my calc notes from this year.

Any tips?

Hey, /sci/, I was wondering if you guys knew of any math books I should read/practice from that would help me learn the basics(for now) of math (pre algebra and up), but as to why it works, not just problems that I plug in equations for. I want to know why so and so happens.

Thanks, guys.

This is why conservative and outdated thinking about "life" and "death" isn't applicable to modern day life.

This shit is arbitrary. The mere fact that there is a debate over this shit that overshadows all the important topics our corrupt government should be dealing with shows how stupid people really are.

There is no such thing as "life beginning". We're shitty little biological organisms that happen to develop over the course of 9 months and have enough brain capacity to actually spend some deeper thought about why that is.

If you're nitpicking and ask "Does "Life" begin when sperm meets the egg?" I say you are the most heinous and evil mass murderer in the entire history of human civilization because each time you masturbate you're committing genocide and killing 200,000,000 "potential" human beings.

That's all there is. Potential. You become an accepted member of society when you exit a vagina with a loud cry. End of discussion.
