Now its also established that making propaganda for trans people increases the size of their population.

Combining the two;
has anyone asked what the netto result of suicides is?

They are less likely to kill themselves, but there will be more of them.
Does this not increase the raw amount of suicides?
what about the lowering in birthrate?
as people that cut off their tits and get a fake penis tend to not get pregnant.

What is the nett result to the population size?

Can someone spoonfeed me on how compactness and connectedness relate?

I've gotten this far:
For a compact set V in a Hausdorff space X, the V is closed in X.
Assuming the space X is connected tells that no subset can be both open and closed (except X and emptyset). So any open cover U of V, must cover more than V itself. or, U\V is non empty.

But I feel there is a deeper connection that I am missing.
