There isn't a correlation between intelligence and how happy someone is.

Intelligent people generally find themselves in higher stress situations and careers than usual, and it sucks a bit worse if you just suck at life and are smart enough to feel bad about it. I'd wager there's just as many happy successful smartasses as there as miserable sacks of shit. Likewise being a blissful idiot doesn't spare you from life coming at you hard and fast just like everyone else.
