Specifically I was imagining a tripropellant SSTO that uses Venture Star style linear aerospikes as its primary engines that are assisted by the RP1 engines that shut off about halfway to orbit.

The orbiter would also have pop-out attach points for generic turbofan engines so it could fly itself from one site to another (it would be too big to fit on the Shuttle carrier 747), drawing from the same RP1 tanks that it uses for orbital launches.
