Pal, I used to compare my acomplishments with that of John Carmack, which did not really help matters.
Once you accept the reality of the numbers game and that these people often lived during extraodinary times under specific circumstances with their own goals/speed at which they moved, it helps to not measure yourself against them.

I know that sounds kind of canned, and it is somewhat, but it's important not to get too bogged down by what others do that you forget what you can do with your potential with your life.
