Bernard announces he knows the exact birthday. This means B must be a product that can only be made in ONE way if A<13 OR A= 17. Given all products of M and D where A<13 can be made in at least 2 ways, A=17.

If Bernard knows from being told A=17, he must have a uniquely valid product of M and D.

You are incorrect. If the answer was 1/16 then A = 17 and B = 16

When albert announces he knows Bernard doesn't know, all he tells him is A<13 or A=17.

If Bernard has B=16 then there are 3 ways of making it that fit that statement: (1,16), (2,8), (4,4). Bernard cannot know which of these is correct, so he wouldn't know the Birthday after Albert's first statement.
