Im currently reading a book called the biography of e=mc2.
The author explains how if someone is talking on a mobile phone, the person they are speaking to will hear their voice before anyone near the person talking on the mobile phone would.

I understand the principle of it, but I would have thought due to delays and processing, regardless of radio waves travelling a hell of a lot faster than sound, people nearby would hear them before the person on the other side of the phone call.

tl;dr will I hear someone first if im chatting to them on a mobile phone or someone stood in the same room as them
