Did some research and I guess here’s some hopium. The fastest shuttle turnaround in our timeline was 8 weeks. In an alternate world, a fleet of 8-10 shuttles with that same turnaround time would be capable of weekly flights.
I’m thinking an alternate shuttle that could do this would be a mix of Saturn-Shuttle and a mix of Energia II.
Say you keep the winged Saturn V first stage. But the S-II upper stage is given wings, TPS, and a bigsss cargo bay. You now have a fully reusable TSTO vehicle thst doesn’t have the same tile dangers of a side mount vehicle like even the dolphin sex shuttle.
It’s also very Saturn derived which should at least make it not cost much more than our timeline’s shuttle. Idk.
