Theoretical.

Let's say that light speed is the ultimate barrier. It is determined after 200-300 years that we WONT travel faster than that no matter what.

How this barrier would affect our space colonization ?

Would we even try it at all ?

I've just downloaded all seasons of star trek new generation.

From 1 to 10 how /sci/ related is this, 1 being the lowest.

Ok, /sci/

For our next assignment we need to devise a way to speedup/slow down the rotation of a planet.

If possible the said planet must not be utterly destroyed in the process.

Go.

hello /sci/,

Today we conjure up a way for moving a planet from it's orbit without destroying its surface.

Let's say its sun is leaving its main sequence and it will burn away its biosphere.

We would like to avoid that so, we need to move away the said planet in to higher orbit without too much disturbance.

your move

ok guys, tonight we discuss how we can extinguish a star.

Throw your ideas, kinetic impacts, introducing elements to the star prohibiting fusion... dosing it with water (da-bum-tiss) ?

Will the heat kills you faster than the suffocation if you are thrown in to space next to mercury with nothing but your clothes on ?

theoretical question

What would be the implications of finding a human dead body on mars after we send another rover there ?

For the sake of the argument, let's say it's just a human body with no other items around it ?
