Guys, I'm getting some PhD offers and I can't decide where should I go.
I want to get a PhD in machine learning and I will apply for industrial R&D work after getting it. So, should I prefer a higher ranking school (https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-science-schools/computer-science-rankings, subjective, but it's true for some schools) or try to find the right professor to work with? (What should I factor in when I find a professor? Funding? Matching topic? Full professor or not?)
I'm so confused right now.
Thanks in advance.

I have just graduated with an MSc degree in CompSci (please no bully) in a third world country.
I want to apply for PhD in schools like Toronto or CMU. How big of a chance do I have?
My GPA is 9.6/10 and I have a few papers published (granted they are shitty no-name conferences because I can't afford to go to the Europe or USA).
I also have two recommendation letters from my supervisors.
What should I do to increase my chance?
Should I take GRE or SAT (or both)?
Thanks in advance.

OP, if you are still here, don't mind the other people screaming at you. They can be nice at times I swear, but it's just that the way you typed triggered them heavily.
Anyway, if you want to reach the frontline, you need to work 10 times harder than the person who has always work 5 times harder than an average person. Because now you are way behind, if you want to catch up, there is no other way. There is no easy way around. You can only run forward or you lose.
That's it, I wish you a good trip.
If you want to ask about computer science, just make a normal thread without whining, people will help you. /sci/ can be ass sometimes but some of them are actually nice inside. They are just cynical because their lives are hard enough already, kek.

Damn, I didn't even know that mistaking premed for a job could derail a thread so effectively ugh.
Original Asianfag here, I will go now. Sorry, seriously.
OP cheer up, you can open a foreign Hospital with skyheight price and milk the rich patients in any oriental country you want.
There is a France hospital in my country and each doctor got about 80k per year, which is a lot considering that every thing else is cheaper here than in the US or Europe.

Does anybody know how to download reserved material from Stanford's SCPD courses? I need to download the solutions in this page because I'm not sure if my answers were correct.
http://stanford.edu/class/ee364a/homework.html
http://stanford.edu/class/ee364a/final.html
All the scripts I found was for watching SCPD videos. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
